A mammoth 474 finishers turned out for the road season curtain-closer at Countesthorpe.

With incessant rain setting the scene for the opening miles a pack of Harriers men lodged themselves in the top 100. First back - and leading 25 Harriers home, was Club Captain Paul Gregory in 32nd place and 61 mins 35 secs and hot on his heels Darren Weston 35th, carving a minute and a half off his PB with 61:49.

Early Harriers-leader Shaun next in 43rd/62:50 then it was then 3 from the pack bang-bang-bang in successive placings (and 16 short seconds) with Mark Frost 64th/64:44 making his first Harriers Hall of Fame entry, Pete Nicolls 65th/64:50 & Matt Adcock 66th/65:00. Eddie Myatt made his league return in 74th/66:07 and the scoring senior and vet men teams were anchored in by Club Chairman Andy Buck - knocking just over half a minute off his PB for 78th/66:33.

Darren 'Darth' Wilson came home 100th in 68:19 - over 300 places better his Tywyn showing and no doubt will start next year's campaign more like his former Anakin Skywalker self. 100th is still some achievement given that Darren has now ditched his helmet (you may recall the original Darth really struggling for air once he did the same at the close of Return of The Jedi).

Mark Bradford finished 110th in 69:25 then leading our ladies in was Ladies Captain Jo Matthews just dipping under her previous PB to record 136th/71:54 as she finished 6th lady overall!. Dean Kelleher next in 162nd/73:44 then Carl Rutt 227th/78:34, Dave Kind 229th/78:45 and Mia Weston making her debut over the distance 244th/79:33 and finishing in the top 30 ladies - her time lodging 3rd fastest senior on our hall of fame.

Alan Percival finished 288th/82:27 then Andy Harris 300th/83:10, Laura Owen 312th/84:11, Matt Dumelow 318th/84:38, Trev Hope 363rd/89:29, Aaron Bird 389th/92:24.

Caroline Scrimshaw had an excellent run to knock over 7 minutes off her PB for 402nd/94:48 and anchor our senior ladies home. Zoe Waistell 446th/103:08 then Caroline Townsend anchored our vet ladies team home in 458th/108:03 and Rachael Sellars 462nd/109:23.
