2011 Race Report The Hermitage
10K Sun 14/8 again doubled-up as the Leicestershire &
Rutland County 10K Road Championships. Course record holder
- Adam Hickey of Southend, returned to the course but
running solo couldn't quite better his record from 2008 but
still dominated proceedings with a gun to tape victory that
saw him forge a winning margin of almost 4 minutes. Hickey -
the 4 time English Schools Cross Country Champion and
British Triathlon International, stopped the clock at 32
mins 8 secs. 2nd place went to Beaumont's Phil Critchlow who
clinched the County Championship in the process in 35:53,
with Charnwood's Martin Makin completing the podium 3rd in
36:09. Charnwood's Glenn North took the V40 prize in 4th
place/37:54 and Huncote's Chris Talbot, in 6th place/38:24
led Huncote to the male team prize. The ladies event was an
equally dominant affair and won by Huncote's Nicki Nealon by
almost 5 minutes as she secured the County road title and
finished 7th in 38:40 with Nuneaton's Helen Talbot 2nd in
43:26. The ladies podium was completed by Hinckley's Rachael
Swan in 47:38 as she led Hinckley to the team prize. Paul
Gregory led a small number of host-club entries home in 9th
place with 38:56

Football Club. There were 176 finishers in the main race and
40 in the fun run.
